FAQ

Regular and proper tyre rotation gives your tyres more uniform wear. All season tyres should be rotated in a “modified X’ pattern, where the tyres being moved to the drive axle are crossed to the opposite of the vehicle. The remaining two tyres are moved from the drive axle to the free rolling axle, remaining on the same side of the vehicle.

By law, car tyres must have a minimum tread depth of 1.6mm throughout the central 75% of the tyre (the tread pattern must be visible in the remaining 25%). For motorcycles, the minimum is 1.0mm throughout the central 75%.

Universal tyres are designed for a wide range of vehicles including sedans, SUVs, and light trucks. They are ideal for drivers seeking balanced performance and affordability.

Uneven wear is often caused by improper inflation, misalignment, unbalanced wheels, or worn suspension parts. Regular checks and alignment can prevent this.

Nitrogen maintains pressure longer than air and is less affected by temperature changes. However, for most drivers, regular air is sufficient if checked regularly.

Minor punctures in the tread area can often be repaired. However, damage to the sidewall or shoulder of the tyre typically requires a full replacement.

Wider tyres can improve grip and cornering performance, but may also affect fuel economy and create more road noise. They may also wear out faster if not properly aligned.

Tyre balancing ensures the weight of the tyre and wheel is evenly distributed. It helps prevent vibrations, improves ride quality, and extends the lifespan of your tyres and suspension parts.

Due to the variety of styles, construction features, tread compounds, vehicle applications, geographical conditions and driving habits, it’s difficult for Goodyear to provide specific mileage expectancy for any tyres supplied as original equipment.

Worn tyres can significantly affect braking distance, especially on wet or icy roads. They can also increase the risk of blowouts and reduce handling capabilities.

You can check tread depth using a tread depth gauge or a coin. If the tread is level with the indicator bars or less than 1.6mm deep, it's time to replace the tyre.

Replace tires every 40,000–60,000 km or every 4–5 years (whichever comes first) earlier if factors apply: harsh heat, heavy loads, high speed, rough roads, uneven wear, or damage (cracks/bulges, tread ≤ 1.6 mm).

Run-flat tyres allow you to drive a short distance (typically up to 80km at 80km/h) after a puncture, while regular tyres need immediate repair or replacement.

Extreme heat can increase tyre pressure, while cold reduces it. Wet or icy conditions also affect grip. Always choose the right tyres for your climate and check pressure regularly.

Steering wheel vibration is often caused by unbalanced tyres, misalignment, or worn suspension components. Wheel balancing usually solves the issue.

Wheel alignment ensures your tyres meet the road at the correct angle. Poor alignment can cause uneven wear, poor handling, and reduced fuel efficiency.
